About the role

The Senior Assessor Trainer (High Voltage Switching) will have the primary responsibility for the training and assessment of Transmission Switching Authorisations, permit recipient and substation entry functions requiring authorisation. This position will also be required to provide training and assessment and reporting of outcomes related to trades, apprentice and post-training verifications of competency (VOCs) in line with corporate objectives and the outcomes of trade roles within the Electricity Supply Industry and Transmission Distribution and Rail (ESI-TDR) and Electrotechnology training packages. Further responsibilities for the role will be to contribute to the ongoing development of training and assessment resources, programming of work and the compliance of a RTO in line with the Australian Skills Quality Authority’s (ASQA) Standards for RTOs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan, deliver, and report on Network Operator competency-based training and assessments for reauthorization and external customer training needs.
  • Conduct training and assessments in classroom and workplace settings, including post-training verification of competency (VoC) and gap training.
  • Maintain and update operating policies, manuals, and training materials in line with business needs and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Analyse training and assessment data, preparing reports on performance and competency achievements while ensuring compliance with RTO and ASQA requirements.
  • Support management with training program design, development, marketing, and promotional opportunities.

About you

Qualifications

  • Cert IV in Training and Assessing
  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology or ESI Overhead or Underground or equivalent qualifications
  • ESI-TDR or Electrotechnology Trades Qualification

Licences/Tickets

  • C Vehicle licence up to 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass (GVM)
  • Workcover Induction for Construction Work - General Course
