In the role of Project Management Summer Student, you will provide project-specific and portfolio level support to a dynamic team of project managers performing complex energy pipeline replacement projects. It’s an excellent job for engineering students who are interested in careers in energy.

You will be given responsibility for coordinating completion of project deliverables, data analytics, and leading improvement initiatives. You will be exposed to various elements of a project lifecycle with the opportunity for field visits. You will get an opportunity to network with a wide array of professionals. You will use your critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills to initiate projects while ensuring Enbridge’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals are being met. Through this there will be an opportunity to get to understand and support Enbridge’s energy transition ambitions.

Placement Details:

This is a 4 month placement starting in May 2026 located in Calgary, AB or Edmonton, AB.

What you will do:

  • Learn and apply project governance and tools to directly support project managers with complex project management administrative responsibilities.
  • Develop skills in managing projects leveraging a matrix organizational structure.
  • Participate in site visits to active construction sites.
  • Go “under the hood” of project execution to support strategic project execution continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Gain visibility to the various roles and meet the people who work in concert to deliver complex projects including Engineering, Construction, Quality, Project Controls, Environment, and others.
  • Build a working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that govern energy pipeline construction and operation.

Who you are: 

  • You are currently enrolled in a full time post-secondary program studying Engineering and will be returning to full time school immediately following the work term. 
  • Hold a valid full class driver’s license and responsible driving record
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication, with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Solid computer skills and experience using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to actively and consistently represent Enbridge’s core values (Safety, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion and High Performance).

Working Conditions: 

  • Office based role, located in Calgary, AB or Edmonton, AB
  • Up to 20% Field work
  • Relocation assistance is not provided.
