In the role of Reliability Engineering Summer Student, you will review equipment failure data and maintenance histories to prepare for failure mode and effects analysis. You will also contribute to modeling our pipeline performance using reliability block diagrams. It's an excellent job for people with an interest in reliability analysis, mechanical equipment, and being part of a solutions team that will generate recommendations for asset management.

Placement Details:

This is a 4 month placement starting in May 2026, located in Edmonton, AB.

What you will do:

  • Contribute to the development of Reliability Block Diagram models and studies used to quantify throughput risk and opportunities impacting pipeline utilization.
  • Review and/or develop asset maintenance strategies using failure modes and effects analysis with the support of Subject Matter Experts.
  • Consolidate mechanical equipment failure information from multiple systems like Maximo, Oracle, PI Vision and internal databases.
  • Fit statistical distributions (like Weibull Distributions) to asset class failure histories using Maximo (CMMS) failure information, Rate Loss Tracker, and other asset information.

Who you are

  • You are currently enrolled in a full time post-secondary program studying Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Petroleum) and will be returning to full time school immediately following the work term. 
  • Effective and professional communication both verbal and written with ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Solid computer skills and experience using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to actively and consistently represent Enbridge’s core values (Safety, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion, High Performance).

Working Conditions: 

  • Office based role, located in Edmonton, AB
  • Relocation assistance is not provided.
