In the role of Environment Co-op student, you will You will assist the Environment Projects department with project related work. Tasks may include environmental planning, compliance tracking, data management, permit applications, and construction readiness support. The focus will be on Enbridge Gas Transmission projects in British Columbia but may include exposure to liquid pipeline, renewable power, and carbon capture projects across Canada.
Placement Details:
This is a 4 month co-op placement starting in May 2026, located in Edmonton or Calgary, AB.
What you will do:
- Data management of cross project environmental work, including but not limited to biophysical environmental and archeological survey information.
- Review and management of developing environmental programming materials associated with a CER regulated pipeline project.
- Research, Regulation review.
- Support of construction readiness, including support of development of various environmental plans an work instructions
- Consultant management support and project management support, associated with field environmental personnel and Compliance tracking support
Scope of work:
- Independent review of environmental materials to be developed with the consultant and Environmental Advisors.
- Support of construction readiness, including various environmental plans and work instructions.
- In consultation with Environmental Advisor, preparation of field visit reports and field compliance reporting.
- Compliance tracking support.
- In consultation with Environmental Advisor, meeting with engaged communities and preparation of materials for meetings.
- Self-starter, open to learning and coaching, can work independently. Capable of working in a fast paced environment with constantly changing scope of work. Field work and site visits will be provided.
- Daily engagement with internal departments, including Lands, Regulatory Affairs, Safety, Engineering, Legal, Projects, Operations, Engineering, and Construction.
Who you are:
- You are currently enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program studying in 3rd or 4th year of a BSc. in Engineering, Biology, Physical Science, Forestry or Environmental Science and will be returning to full time school immediately following the work term.
- Experience in working on computer with MS Suite of tools
- Excellent organizational skills
- High-quality oral communication and writing skills
- Experience working within teams.
- Ability to actively and consistently represent Enbridge’s core values (Safety, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion, High Performance).
- Valid Driver's License
Working Conditions:
- Office-based role, located in Edmonton, AB
- Infrequent travel
- Travel includes visits to field office locations, operating natural gas facilities, liquids pipelines, and/or power transmission facilities.
- Relocation assistance is not provided.
