Job Overview

The Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing detailed project schedules for one or more major projects. This role works closely with cross-functional project teams to ensure schedules are aligned with project objectives, execution strategies, and enterprise standards. The position plays a key role in monitoring schedule performance, supporting decision-making, and ensuring accurate, timely reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, detail, and maintain project schedules in collaboration with project stakeholders across planning, procurement, development, construction, and maintenance phases
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise scheduling standards, including the development and maintenance of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
  • Update and refine schedules as projects progress, incorporating earned value data and inputs from construction tracking and reporting systems
  • Analyze schedule performance and communicate impacts, risks, and variances to the Project Manager and stakeholders
  • Assess the impact of schedule updates on baseline plans and ensure resource requirements are properly integrated and maintained throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop and manage schedule performance indicators and reporting metrics
  • Provide technical expertise in scheduling, planning, and logistics, including development of “what-if” scenarios and analysis of critical path activities
  • Identify critical path elements and recommend logic-driven solutions to optimize project timelines
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and consultants, to support schedule accuracy and alignment
  • Prepare and deliver reports, schedules, updates, and other documentation required for project execution and completion
  • Interface with project teams and key stakeholders to gather accurate data for effective schedule development and critical path management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in engineering and construction capital projects, with pipeline or similar industry experience preferred
  • Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently as a senior scheduling professional
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize workload in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with tools such as EcoSys, Oracle Cloud, and Power BI

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based environment
  • Occasional travel to project sites, including field locations, may be required
  • Overnight travel may be necessary depending on project needs
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when visiting field sites
  • Expected to deliver accurate reports and schedule data within established timelines
