About the Role:

- As the Lead, Business Development, you will shape and execute the market strategy for growing Gas Distribution & Storage’s (GDS) Industrial segment in Ohio. In this pivotal role, you will champion the customer experience for Enbridge’s industrial clients—cultivating long-term relationships, understanding their business goals, and delivering innovative solutions that drive mutual growth. You will also play a key role in expanding Enbridge’s revenue, strengthening partnerships, and enabling system expansion to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement long-term account strategies for high-value industrial customers focused on growth, retention, and customer success.
- Oversee the full business development lifecycle—from prospecting and solution development through closing, project execution, and ongoing relationship management.
- Anticipate customer needs, identify emerging industry trends, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver differentiated, customer‑centric solutions.
- Partner closely with operations, engineering, regulatory, marketing, and customer service teams to deliver integrated solutions tailored to customer priorities.
- Influence cross-functional decision-making to align internal capabilities with customer expectations and business outcomes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of sales professionals.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and support to enable team success and continuous improvement.
- Set clear targets, monitor performance, and use data-driven insights to refine strategies and enhance execution.
- Track and manage performance against sales targets, customer satisfaction metrics, revenue growth, and operational effectiveness.
- Use analytics and market insights to inform strategy, prioritize opportunities, and support decision-making.
Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):
- Grasping, kneeling, light to moderate lifting (up to 20 lbs).
- Reaching above the shoulder, repetitive motion, typing.
- Sitting, standing, and the ability to work in tight spaces.
- Visual ability to read screens, interpret color coding, and view fine print.
- Hearing requirements to perform essential communication tasks.
Mental Requirements (Field & Office)

Qualifications:
- Strategic leader with 10+ years of experience in business development, preferably within the utilities or energy sector.
- Extensive experience in people leadership and/or managing large, complex initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with demonstrated success presenting to C‑suite executives.
- Proven track record of achieving sales goals and delivering success in target‑driven environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Strong understanding of the utilities ecosystem, including exposure to regulators, intervenors, competitors, and related stakeholders.
- Customer‑centric mindset with the ability to see the bigger picture and translate insights into actionable plans.
Working conditions:
- Mainly office based with approximately 20% travel within Ohio.
- A valid driver's license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required.
