About the Role:
Join our innovative team as an Electrical Engineer, where you will oversee and manage the electrical and controls design of expansion and maintenance capital projects. You will ensure compliance with company standards, specifications, and industry standards, while managing project budgets and schedules. Collaborate with various functional groups to achieve project and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the electrical and controls design of large horsepower (10,000 to 30,000 HP) turbine and electrical motor-driven centrifugal compressor stations.
- Ensure compliance with NEC requirements and manage industrial systems in Hazardous Classified Areas.
- Design and manage power systems, including 120/208 volt, 480 volt, and 4160 volt systems, ensuring proper sizing and grounding.
- Develop and manage controls systems, including PLC base controls, motor control circuits, and emergency shutdown systems.
- Oversee instrumentation, including smart and analog transmitters, pressure and temperature transmitters, and flame and gas detector systems.
- Develop project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, and execution planning for assigned facility projects.
- Ensure facilities are designed in accordance with regulations, industry codes, and corporate standards.
- Manage third-party engineering firms to execute design deliverables within budget and schedule.
- Review and approve design deliverables, vendor materials quotations, and provide technical evaluations.
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
- Incorporate lessons learned from past projects into future designs.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support department initiatives.
- Ensure project scope definitions comply with regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Update Operations weekly on project status and design features.
- Provide daily to weekly project status updates to Supervisor/Manager, Facilities Project Engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in engineering and project management.
Preferred Skills:
- Professional Engineer designation.
- Ability to innovate, initiate, and manage change.
- Capable of working independently, managing multiple projects, and prioritizing tasks.
- Resolve complex issues with technical and business knowledge.
- Communicate technical issues effectively to technical and non-technical staff.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with potential for above-normal stress levels due to deadline-oriented project work.
- Overnight business trips to the field may be required, with PPE usage.
