Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

About Us: 

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Locates to ensure the accuracy and completion of locate requests, working closely with various departments and stakeholders.

Primary Focus:

  • Analyze, assign, and complete locate requests for STO Plant Assets.
  • Schedule locates, third-party observations, and site meetings in collaboration with People & Crew Leads across STO departments.
  • Coordinate actions based on Aerial Patrol reports.
  • Assist the Manager of Locates, Capital Management, and Administration with assigned duties.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Determine if locate requests can be cleared or require field follow-up.
  • Verify map accuracy and confirm planned work locations relative to STO assets.
  • Initiate Crossing Agreements with EIT and facilitate necessary documentation.
  • Initiate work order requests for physical locates by STO Field teams and third-party contractors.
  • Ensure locate completeness and accuracy, notifying affected groups and originators of findings and follow-up requirements.
  • Complete locates in a web-based portal.
  • Investigate and complete Aerial Patrol reports, initiating appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Update observation records and file them appropriately.
  • Assemble documents for work packages to complete field locates, observations, or oversight.
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of locate files and associated documents.
  • Assist the Supervisor with other Locates, Capital Management, and Administration duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient with computers and experience with programs such as E-Locate, GIS, Excel, Word, Google Earth, SAP, Maximo, Plan View (Multi-Viewer), Utilisphere (IRTH), and Utillilocate.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle difficult situations.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to read maps and compare them to aerial photographs, satellite imagery, and existing prints/documents.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Strong time management skills and adherence to deadlines.

Additional Details:

  • Office-based role with minimal overtime, no on-call or weekend shifts.
  • Reports to the Supervisor of Locates, Capital Management, and Administration.
  • Collaborate with internal Enbridge stakeholders and various supporting relationships, including S&T Field team, STO Operations, STO Mechanics, STO Technician & Controls, GIS and Mapping, Operations and Maintenance Engineering, Lands & ROW, Plant Damage, Landowners, GIS & System Support, Asset Management, Finance, and Corrosion Inspection.
