Job Overview:

  • The Junior Cost Analyst & Document Controls Coordinator supports the Interconnects team by assisting with project cost tracking, budget administration, document control, and financial reporting activities. This role plays a key part in supporting Approvals for Expenditure (AFEs), invoice processing, project cost reconciliation, and preparation of project and customer financial reporting, while ensuring documentation is accurate, controlled, and compliant with company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Analysis & Financial Support (Interconnects)

  • Support the Interconnects team with AFE setup, tracking, updates, and closeout activities.
  • Assist with invoice review, validation, and reconciliation against approved commitments.
  • Support project cost reconciliation, identifying variances, anomalies, and data discrepancies.
  • Prepare final project cost invoices for review and approval.
  • Assist with project-level and customer financial reporting, including monthly and ad‑hoc reports.
  • Maintain accurate cost tracking logs, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation.
  • Provide analytical and administrative support to senior cost analysts and project controls professionals.

Document Control & Records Management

  • Support document control activities for project, financial, and governance documentation, ensuring proper version control, approvals, and secure storage.
  • Maintain document registers, metadata, and review cycles in accordance with established document control standards.
  • Assist document owners and subject matter experts with document updates, reviews, and publication processes.
  • Support audit, governance, and compliance requests by organizing and retrieving required documentation in a timely manner.

Reporting & Administrative Support

  • Prepare and maintain Excel-based reports, trackers, logs, and dashboards.
  • Support month-end and reporting cycles by collecting required inputs from project and finance stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with project managers, finance teams, and governance stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely information flow.
  • Perform general analytical and administrative support duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience (internship, co-op, or entry-level experience acceptable).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and report preparation.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage financial data and controlled documentation accurately.
  • Ability to follow established processes and standards within a regulated or project-driven environment.
  • Positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn, accept feedback, and support a broad team mandate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to project cost control, AFEs, invoice processing, or project reconciliation.
  • Experience supporting project or customer financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with document management systems and/or SharePoint-based repositories.
  • Experience in an engineering, energy, utilities, or infrastructure environment.
