Job Overview:

  • The ICS / SCADA Systems Specialist provides technical leadership and hands-on expertise in the design, delivery, and optimization of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and SCADA solutions across Power Operations wind and solar facilities. This role ensures all systems align with internal engineering standards, cybersecurity requirements, and industry best practices—while maintaining a safety-first mindset that supports safe, reliable, and compliant renewable energy operations.
  • With a strong emphasis on Ignition-based SCADA platforms, the Specialist will work closely with engineering, operations, networking, cybersecurity teams, and external vendors to deliver highly available systems that meet regulatory requirements and enable safe, efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support ICS/SCADA activities for both new and existing wind and solar generation assets, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, safety expectations, and security requirements.
  • Provide hands-on technical expertise throughout system design, configuration, commissioning, and operational lifecycle stages.
  • Apply a safety-driven approach to all activities, ensuring systems are designed and operated to support safe work practices and reduce operational and cyber risk.
  • Ensure all solutions meet regulatory, reliability, and operational compliance requirements.
  • Review and approve as-built documentation, drawings, and system deliverables.
  • Identify gaps, deficiencies, or risks in system design or implementation and support corrective actions that enhance safety, reliability, and compliance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Ignition SCADA platforms, including:
  • System architecture and redundancy strategies
  • Tag modeling and data structures
  • Scripting and logic development
  • Alarm management and system performance
  • User access controls and security configuration
  • Assess deployed SCADA and control systems at renewable facilities to identify:
  • Configuration and performance risks
  • Cybersecurity vulnerabilities
  • Reliability and availability concerns
  • Optimization and standardization opportunities
  • Support remediation efforts and continuous improvement initiatives across the SCADA environment.
  • Review Operational Technology (OT) network architectures and ICS data flows to ensure secure, reliable, and resilient integration between:
  • Controllers (PLCs/RTUs)
  • SCADA systems and historians
  • Balance of Plant (BOP/BES) systems
  • Enterprise and operational platforms commonly used in wind and solar operations
  • Collaborate with network, cybersecurity, engineering, and operations teams to:
  • Validate technical designs
  • Confirm safety and security alignment
  • Document system architectures and data flows supporting Power Operations renewable facilities.

Please note: Successful applicants will be employees of Raise, working at Enbridge facilities with both Enbridge and contract employees.
