At Enbridge, our goal is to be the first-choice energy delivery company in North America and beyond—for customers, communities, investors, regulators and policymakers, and employees.

To meet that goal, Enbridge is partnering with Raise—a leading recruitment firm that specializes in IT, Technical, and Engineering staffing.

Together, Raise and Enbridge are building teams that are rising to meet the growing energy needs of North America. If you’re looking for a challenging role that will make the most of your skills while allowing you to make an impact, this is it.

Enbridge is hiring a Planning Engineer II right now—when you apply, Raise will review your application within 48 hours and contact qualified applicants for interviews.

About the Role:

  • The Planning Coordinator is responsible for developing and coordinating a comprehensive, integrated, facility‑by‑facility plan for all Liquids Pipelines (LP) facility work. This includes Operations, Core Programs, and Major Projects activities. The role ensures that interdependent risks and mitigation strategies—such as construction sequencing, permitting, contractor workspace, and material availability—are centrally identified, evaluated, and communicated across all scopes within each facility.
  • The overarching goal is to enable successful execution of all planned work within designated outage windows and achieve targeted in‑service dates (ISDs).

Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Scheduling:

  • Facilitate detailed site scheduling in partnership with Operations, Project Managers (PMs), Construction Managers (CMs), Project Controls, and Major Projects to optimize execution, reduce risk, and meet outage and ISD requirements.
  • Monitor, identify, and escalate schedule and coordination risks (e.g., permits, material lead times, outage constraints, contractor overlap, task sequencing).
  • Ensure that all plans and schedules are feasible, achievable, and aligned with pipeline outage durations and ISD requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a log of critical materials, outage windows, contractor tasks, and interdependencies across facilities to support proactive issue resolution.
  • Act as a change agent by identifying gaps, risks, and recommended solutions for PMs, CMs, and Leadership.
  • Ensure approved strategic or scheduling changes are incorporated into all relevant plans and schedules.
  • Collaborate with Project Controls schedulers to maintain accurate data flows, ensure schedule quality, and support continuous improvement.

Scope, Contracting & Strategy:

  • Analyze scope and contracting strategies across Operations, Core Programs, and Major Projects to identify and recommend optimization opportunities.
  • Example: Identify overlapping subcontractor usage (e.g., hydrovac services) and recommend consolidation to a single provider for efficiency.
  • Review contractor work plans to understand equipment needs, durations, and resource levels, providing recommendations to optimize equipment use and reduce site congestion.
  • Provide insights to PMs and CMs on opportunities to streamline execution strategies across facilities.

Site Coordination:

  • Own and manage the overall site plot plans (schedule and workspace areas) for all scopes (MCI, MLO, LRF) across Operations, Major Projects, Core Programs, and PCSLD.
  • Identify work‑area overlaps and potential construction interferences (e.g., trenched cables delaying or blocking other work scopes).
  • Identify potential safety risks arising from site congestion and advise PMs, CMs, and Leadership accordingly.
  • Coordinate with Construction Management regarding site laydown and storage requirements, and monitor road closures initiated by both Projects and Operations.
  • Work closely with the Operations Coordination team on outage management, ensuring integration into site schedules and tracking of critical operational/outage information.
  • Review portfolio‑wide schedules to identify risks, opportunities, and execution impacts, providing insights to Execution Managers.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor with a customer‑service mindset, ensuring alignment, transparency, and accountability across PMs, CMs, Operations, and other stakeholders.
  • Adapt to evolving customer needs with agility and a One‑Enbridge mindset.
  • Collaborate with Project Controls schedulers and ensure they are fully integrated into schedule review discussions with PMs, CMs, and Operations.
  • Support the development of high‑quality, accurate P6 schedule data through continuous communication and coordination.

Governance:

  • Serve as the single point of contact for consolidating all schedules, reports, risk tables, and associated documentation for all stations.
  • Provide guidance and quality assurance across Planning Coordinator functions to ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Develop procedures and processes required to support departmental governance.

Scope & Dimensions:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing planning solutions, ensuring efficient coordination of scope and field resources across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Works independently on self‑identified tasks with decisions guided by standard practices and professional judgment.
  • Recommendations are treated as technically accurate and feasible, including in specialized or atypical situations.
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to junior Planning Coordinators.

Contacts (Working Relationships):

  • Daily communication with Project Controls Schedulers.
  • Weekly communication with PMs, CMs, Supply Chain Management, Operations, and Major Projects staff.
  • Must communicate complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Interactions are influenced by:
  • Fast‑paced and highly technical environments
  • Multiple stakeholders across large business units
  • Frequent information requests
  • Complexity of integrating multiple concurrent scopes across multiple sites

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in project management, construction, or project controls, with strong understanding of project management principles, especially scheduling and construction sequencing.
  • Experience working on industrial projects with interfaces across Engineering, Procurement, Contracting, Execution, Construction, and Commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of construction activities, interdependencies, labor and equipment requirements, and duration forecasting.
  • Familiarity with Liquids Pipelines Operations, process plant operations, or similar—especially outage management and Operations/Projects integration.
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes, regulations, standards, and specifications for pipeline systems and facilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively coordinate across diverse teams and stakeholders.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office‑based role.
  • High‑visibility work with deadlines tied to outages and ISDs may result in above‑normal stress levels.
  • Occasional overnight travel to field locations (up to 10%), requiring full use of PPE.

Please note: Successful applicants will be employees of Raise, working at Enbridge facilities with both Enbridge and contract employees.
