Job Overview:

  • The Project Controls Coordinator supports the successful planning and execution of construction projects by developing and maintaining robust cost controls, schedules, and reporting frameworks. This role partners closely with project managers, construction teams, and key stakeholders to monitor performance, manage risks, and ensure accurate, timely financial and progress reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Project Control Plan, including project estimates, budgets, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Establish, control, and monitor project budgets, ensuring alignment with approved estimates and execution plans.
  • Track, analyze, and report Forecast at Completion (FAC), incurred costs, and budgets; provide clear variance analysis with drivers and explanations.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparent communication on project progress, changes, highlights, risks, and issues.
  • Communicate cost, schedule, and execution status with project execution and construction teams to support informed decision-making.
  • Proactively report cost and performance status, identifying risks early and clearly communicating mitigation plans.
  • Update and maintain actual progress, key milestones, and projected completion dates.
  • Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) practices, ensuring accurate reporting of CPI, SPI (as applicable), and earned value curves.
  • Manage change control processes by initiating and tracking Project Change Orders (PCOs), trends, and AFE revisions.
  • Support supplemental funding requests by providing accurate analysis, documentation, and justification.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction, project controls, or cost control roles.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Proven capability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • High proficiency in project and cost control systems, including:
  • Oracle
  • Power BI
  • Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
