Job Overview:

As part of the Business Applications Services Team, the Application Support Analyst will bring technical expertise to support business areas within the client. The Analyst is responsible for understanding long-term application portfolio plans and delivering technology solutions defined within those plans. This role involves planning, proposing, executing, and delivering functional applications with detailed technical solutions and specifications. The Analyst will actively participate in the design, development, testing, release, and support of technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and support for complex business systems.
  • Accountable for the technical design, development, testing, implementation, and support of Business Applications Services applications.
  • Design, develop, and test applications, ensuring transition to operational support with architecture standards and plans across multi-disciplinary teams and/or business units.
  • Perform and/or create User Acceptance Testing for all deliverables throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of standards, policies, and procedures related to applications.
  • Ensure proper design principles are maintained to address non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, availability, reliability, and security.
  • Communicate effectively within and between multi-disciplinary teams and/or business units.
  • Prepare recommendations for leaders in the business and IT.
  • Define packages of work and decompose them into manageable sprints or iterations.
  • Manage incidents and problems by ensuring escalations from various business areas are resolved quickly and effectively.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client issues and provide status updates on incidents and problems.
  • Lead escalated incidents and problem management tasks.
  • Review the technology landscape to support and encourage innovation; build business cases for new technology implementations and present to senior management for approval.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of the tools and repositories used to manage solution documentation.
  • Oversee COTS software implementations, guiding internal and vendor IT professionals to ensure compliant integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, being responsive and available to address concerns, issues, feedback, and questions.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of directly related IT work experience.
  • Practical experience with developing enterprise applications using .NET technologies and full-stack development.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and supporting COTS applications and technology stack.
  • Understanding of the Microsoft Active Directory environment, secure computing concepts, infrastructure, platform, and networking design principles.
  • Strong ability to learn quickly and translate end-user requirements into solution designs, working collaboratively in a team environment to implement solutions.
  • Excellent customer service attitude, written and verbal communication skills, with an aptitude for problem-solving and systematic thinking.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality outcomes, with the ability to multi-task and demonstrate creative resourcefulness.
  • Familiarity with version control software (Git preferred).

Preferred:

  • Knowledge or familiarity with Accruent Meridian Engineering Document Management System.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and/or Agile software development.
  • Strong scripting knowledge (PowerShell preferred).
  • Strong understanding of .Net Framework: ASP.NET, C#, Bootstrap, and SQL with practical development and coaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (React or Angular preferred).
  • Strong understanding of building and consuming RESTful web services and APIs.
  • Experience implementing cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS, TeamCity, and Octopus Deploy is an asset.
  • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining SharePoint (2016 or Online) and FME Server.
  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD SDK and ArcGIS development technologies.
  • Understanding of UML as a modeling language used for logical and physical project solution design documentation.
  • Familiarity or direct experience with Microsoft SSIS, Microsoft SSAS, and Microsoft SSRS/PowerBI and Business Intelligence architecture principles.
  • Understanding of Semantic Modelling and Domain Driven Design concepts.
  • Understanding of Business Process Modeling Notation and Business Process Execution Language notation and development.
  • Knowledge of/certification in ITIL V.
