Description:
- The Stockhandler is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking inventory. This role ensures materials are handled safely, accurately, and in compliance with established procedures while supporting inventory control, project materials management, and interdepartmental coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and within the warehouse
- Store warehouse goods in accordance with prescribed storage and safety standards
- Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Maintain warehouse facilities in a clean, safe, organized, and orderly condition
- Pick and issue materials and supplies as requested
- Enter inventory transactions accurately into warehouse and inventory systems
- Assign appropriate accounting and budgeting codes to warehouse transactions
- Verify deliveries against delivery tickets, packing slips, and bills of lading
- Plan and manage monthly inventory cycle counts, including:
- Researching overages and shortages
- Processing inventory adjustments
- Monitor inventory balances and initiate requisitions to replenish stock as needed
- Maintain inventory and warehouse-related databases
- Manage project materials by ordering, storing, issuing, and documenting distribution
- Purchase emergency parts and supplies as required
- Provide logistical support for stores and special projects
- Respond to data and inventory requests from other departments
- Conduct safety meetings for warehouse employees
- Interact with internal departments and external vendors to resolve delivery or inventory issues
- Travel to other warehouse locations as needed to support operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs.
- May be responsible for one or more of the following:
- Inventory cycle counts
- Inventory replenishment
- Project material support
- Store and logistics support functions
Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of related warehouse or inventory experience
- Knowledge of warehouse distribution policies and procedures
- Understanding of inventory materials and their applications to assign accurate transaction coding
- Knowledge of accounting codes and basic accounting procedures
- Strong basic math skills
- Proficiency with personal computers and standard software applications
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks)
- Ability to apply accounting principles to analyze and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift or move up to 100 pounds unassisted
- Ability to work effectively with others, communicate clear instructions, and evaluate outcomes
- Strong attendance and reliability record
- Commitment to maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment
Preferred:
- SAP experience
- 2–3 years of related experience
- High School diploma or GED
Working Conditions:
- Occasional overtime may be required based on operational needs
- Physical role requiring lifting, standing, and equipment operation
- Travel to other warehouse locations may be required
