Job Overview:

  • In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation equipment that supports critical pipeline operations. This includes motors, motor control centers (MCCs), medium-voltage switchgear, instrumentation systems, and communication networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all work in alignment with Company Policies, ensuring strict compliance with Operating and Maintenance (O&M) procedures
  • Complete and maintain all required safety, regulatory, and technical training
  • Maintain, repair, test, and troubleshoot pipeline electrical systems, including:
  • Substation equipment
  • Medium-voltage switchgear
  • Motor control centers (MCCs)
  • Communication networks
  • Instrumentation and control systems
  • Coordinate with Supervisors, Planners, Schedulers, fellow Technicians, and other stakeholders to plan, schedule, and execute work safely and efficiently
  • Utilize work management systems to document maintenance activities, maintain accurate facility records, and update drawings as required
  • Maintain facilities to company standards for cleanliness, safety, and security
  • Respond to and execute one-call requests and crossing reports
  • Perform line locating activities when required

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Electrician with Interprovincial Certification
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related industrial electrical experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with above-average analytical ability and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license (driver’s abstract verification required prior to hire)
  • Ability to successfully complete required background screening, including but not limited to:
  • Five-year driving record review
  • Criminal background check
  • Company-sponsored medical and drug testing

Working Conditions:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday with participation in an on-call rotation; emergency response and overtime may be required
  • Physical Requirements: Role requires climbing, bending, lifting, standing, and crouching on a repetitive basis
  • Travel: Daily travel within the assigned area; occasional travel within Canada may be required
