Position Overview:
The Planner is responsible for preparing future work plans, allowing Supervisors to focus on executing current tasks. This role involves job planning, labor estimation, and material procurement, with support from the Supervisor. The Planner also develops and manages Maximo work order requests and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders through effective communication and prioritization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor WAPPR Work Orders and create new work orders in Maximo as needed.
- Estimate required hours and skills by craft to perform tasks. Identify and requisition necessary materials and services.
- Work with Contractors, Supervisors, Coordinators, Specialists, Engineering, and Technicians to develop and document work packages and job plans for critical work.
- Conduct walk downs to document job requirements, identify safety hazards, and ensure compliance with Safety, Environmental, and Operating procedures.
- Regularly review Maximo backlogs and update work packages based on feedback.
- Perform receipt of materials in Oracle and ensure all resources are available before work begins.
- Lead or co-lead weekly planning and scheduling meetings.
- Ensure drawings, asset records, and technical records are updated as required.
- Utilize the Job Aid Library for task execution and complete all mandatory safety and technical training.
- Maintain positive relationships with Control Center Operators, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent mix of education and experience. High School Diploma or GED required.
- Excellent communication, customer service focus, interpersonal skills, and effective organizational and time management abilities.
- Experience with Maximo, COPAS, and knowledge of oil/gas pipeline operations. Ability to read P&ID, Isometrics drawings, and OEM manuals.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based at the Sarnia Terminal.
- May require long hours, night, and weekend work due to emergencies or non-routine tasks.
- Occasional travel of 50-100 KM between stations and throughout the region for emergencies, training, and meetings.
- Office setting (60%), Field setting (40%). Exposure to extreme temperatures and high-noise areas where crude oil and solvent vapors may be present.
