Job Overview:
- The Regional Field Quality Coordinator is responsible for providing Quality Control (QC) execution and Quality Assurance (QA) oversight in support of pipeline maintenance and project activities across the Prairie Region, including Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
- This role ensures that all maintenance and project work is planned, executed, verified, and documented in compliance with the Enbridge Quality Management Program, applicable regulatory requirements, and company standards. The position plays a critical role in safeguarding quality performance through structured oversight, field verification, documentation control, and proactive issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide QC execution and QA oversight for pipeline maintenance and project activities in alignment with the Enbridge Quality Program.
- Develop, review, manage, and control quality documentation, including:
- Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
- Pressure Test Plans
- Weld and Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) matrices
- Inspection packages and turnover documentation
- Perform QC verification activities and QA oversight to ensure compliance with:
- Applicable codes and standards
- Company procedures
- Regulatory requirements
- Review Vendor, Supplier, and Contractor quality documentation to confirm applicability, completeness, and conformance.
- Monitor, assess, and report on project quality performance; identify trends, risks, and deficiencies; and support timely and effective resolution.
- Prepare, issue, manage, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) using Enbridge’s Quality Enhancement Reporting system.
- Develop, track, and verify the effectiveness of:
- Corrective Action Plans (CAPs)
- Preventative Action Plans (PAPs)
- Root Cause Analyses (RCAs)
- Coordinate and support quality assessments, audits, and surveillance activities, ensuring findings are addressed and closed.
- Collaborate closely with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Operations, and external stakeholders to support quality requirements and resolve execution or documentation issues.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, traceability, and controlled retention of QA/QC records, including:
- Field inspection documentation
- Redline and as-built drawings
- Final turnover packages
Scope:
- Perform QA reviews of:
- Supplier Quality Management Plans
- Material requisitions
- Inspection and Test Plans
- Activities defined within the applicable Quality Management Plan
- Support project teams throughout planning, execution, and close-out by providing quality management subject matter expertise.
- Prepare, review, and support the resolution of non-conformance documentation and associated follow-up actions.
- Verify supplier quality documentation and records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Enbridge quality and records management standards.
- Ensure supplier quality practices meet Enbridge documentation, records management, and retention requirements.
- Identify, recommend, and support continuous improvement opportunities to enhance quality consistency and performance.
- Support field documentation turnover activities, including compilation of quality records and redlining of as-built drawings.
Qualifications:
Required
- Related university degree with 4+ years of experience, or 8+ years of QA/QC experience in pipeline construction and/or maintenance.
- CSA Z662 Clause 18 Level II (formerly CSA 178.2 Level II) certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a change leader and drive quality improvement.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Bluebeam
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred
- NACE / AMPP Coating Inspector Program (CIP) Level II certification.
Working Conditions:
- Typical work environment consists of approximately 90% office-based work and 10% field-based activities, subject to project requirements.
- Field activities may include overnight travel and exposure to varying physical and environmental conditions.
- Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required during field activities.
