Job Overview:

  • This role represents a senior-level IT professional responsible for delivering advanced technical expertise and contributing to the design, development, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure. The position emphasizes deep technical specialization while also requiring the ability to coordinate work, provide guidance, and influence technical decisions across teams.
  • The Senior Network Engineer operates independently on complex technical challenges, often making design decisions that may deviate from standard practices based on extensive experience and sound judgment. The role requires a strong understanding of both business objectives and technical environments, enabling effective problem-solving, project delivery, and identification of improvement opportunities.
  • This position involves collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with communication delivered through clear documentation and presentations. While the role may involve mentoring or guiding a small team, its primary focus remains on technical leadership rather than people management.
  • The ideal candidate typically holds a relevant degree or equivalent practical experience and brings 7+ years of directly related industry experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced technical support for enterprise network operations.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation to resolve critical network incidents.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of network services.
  • Lead the architecture, deployment, and optimization of enterprise-scale Cisco LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
  • Design solutions that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
  • Develop and implement network solutions aligned with evolving business needs.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies.
  • Ensure infrastructure supports high availability, resilience, and scalability.
  • Perform comprehensive testing of new technologies to ensure performance, stability, and compatibility.
  • Validate designs before production deployment.
  • Integrate new technologies into existing network environments.
  • Ensure seamless interoperability and minimal disruption to current services.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise for network initiatives and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and incident review sessions.
  • Present and review network changes in Change Advisory Board (CAB) and Technical Advisory Board (TAB) meetings.
  • Ensure adherence to ITIL processes.
  • Support major business initiatives, including Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).
  • Gather requirements and translate them into scalable network designs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including:
  • Network architecture diagrams
  • Configuration standards
  • Operational procedures
  • Identify network-related risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities within the network environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Networking, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 6–7 years of hands-on experience with enterprise network environments.
  • Proven ability to design, build, deploy, and support large-scale Cisco networks.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex projects end-to-end.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-layered network issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with IT service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and ITIL methodologies.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with:
  • Routers, switches, firewalls
  • Wireless access points

  • Familiarity with Nokia IP products, particularly Service Aggregation Router (SAR).

Working Conditions:
