About the Role: 

The Materials Coordinator plays a crucial role in supply chain management, focusing on forecasting requirements for raw materials and resources to meet operational needs. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with materials, production, and engineering teams both domestically and internationally to meet customer needs at appropriate costs.
  • Identify and target areas for cost reduction.
  • Manage inventory accuracy while focusing on process improvements.
  • Analyze the root cause of inventory issues and develop programs and procedures to eliminate them.
  • Develop a formal supplier evaluation procedure, including essential metrics for on-time delivery, accuracy of fulfillment, quality of materials, and pricing comparisons.
  • Manage distribution capabilities, quality processes, and corrective action procedures.
  • Develop a reporting and tracking system with mechanisms for monthly consolidations of the value of materials returned and credits issued.
  • Stay current and seek opportunities to improve repair and return management practices by benchmarking top-level companies.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or engineering.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing company.
  • Experience with international shipping and dealing with international requirements for invoices.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access, with some Oracle SAP experience.
  1. Excel: Used to gather data and create basic spreadsheets.
  2. PowerPoint: Used to create presentations.
  3. Access: Used to pull reports.
  4. Oracle: Used for transactional processes, lookups, and pulling reports.
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and patience in working with others.
