About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Planner/Scheduler to join our dynamic and innovative team. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to projects exceeding $50 million annually with multiyear durations and extreme complexities. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as an expert user of Primavera P6 software for scheduling.
- Apply specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in project planning and scheduling, being recognized as an industry leader in the field.
- Interprets business issues, both internal and external, and provide recommendations for best practices.
- Identify innovative and broad-perspective solutions to complex problems and work independently, seeking guidance only in the most intricate situations.
- Lead functional teams or entire projects, exhibiting strong leadership and facilitation skills.
- Be seen as a project controls expert across the entire Major Projects department, providing support and guidance to Project Execution personnel.
- Teach project controls theory across various functional areas within Major Projects.
- Demonstrate leadership authority by assigning work, advising on problems, and reviewing work for accuracy and adequacy.
- Troubleshoot specific control issues and implement relevant changes effectively.
Competency Demonstration:
- Recognized as a Project Controls expert within the Major Projects department.
- Provide clear direction and support to Project Execution personnel.
- Capable of making sound judgments with project impact considerations.
Decision Making and Supervision:
- Exercise sound judgment in decision-making, which is typically reviewed but generally deemed accurate and feasible.
- Work is guided by objectives, priorities, and critical areas affecting other units, within broad guidelines but with informed guidance available when necessary.
Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, P.Eng or its international equivalent preferred.
- 7-10 years of working experience, including 2+ years in relevant construction or project experience.
- Must be a proven high performer, substantiated by prior performance reviews.
- Certifications required: Project Management Professional (PMP).
