Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Buyer to collaborate with our Supply Chain Business Teams. This role involves executing purchase orders, managing supplier relationships, and providing senior-level technical expertise to support contract administration requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement within the oil and gas industry and be proficient in Oracle Cloud.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Business Teams to execute purchase orders in a timely manner to meet business requirements.
- Independently work on complex procurement issues, ensuring materials and services are acquired to meet stakeholder objectives.
- Lead complex investigations and analyses, providing advice to staff and working directly on legal reviews.
- Maintain valuable relationships with key suppliers and effectively prioritize work assignments.
- Participate in all aspects of the procurement process, including negotiating terms and conditions.
- Form, negotiate, and manage purchase orders to support business requirements.
- Lead sourcing development, bid or proposal solicitation (RFx), and evaluation processes.
- Perform quality assessments of purchase orders for negotiated terms, risk mitigation plans, and pricing mechanisms.
- Identify efficiencies, cost reduction, cost avoidance, and continuous improvement opportunities within the sourcing process.
- Review billings and purchase orders, identify non-compliance to contracts, and resolve issues.
- Enable Supply Chain strategic objectives by recommending adjustments to processes, systems, and tools.
- Educate the business on Supply Chain policies and procedures and maintain records in accordance with audit guidelines/SOX requirements.
- Validate and execute approved change orders related to purchase orders.
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members on SCM processes and protocols.
- Support continuous improvement of Supply Chain Management processes and participate in special projects.
- Utilize Oracle extensively to support duties and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Related University degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or contracts, with a strong background in the oil and gas industry.
- Proven application of Supply Chain systems (SAP/Oracle) in business situations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as a senior professional.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and coordinate requirements with various groups.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Preferred:
- Ability to influence stakeholders without authority and a solid understanding of leading supply chain techniques.
- Superior negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and cost modeling experience.
- Excellent facilitation and project management skills.
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment and possess a "sense of urgency."
- Knowledge of Procurement processes/policies such as SOX policies and industry trends.
- Oracle Cloud proficiency.
