Job Overview:
- This role is responsible for developing, analyzing, and communicating customer, volume, and revenue forecasts for a regulated gas utility. The successful candidate will support business planning, regulatory filings, and strategic decision‑making through advanced statistical analysis, variance reporting, and data visualization. Acting as a trusted statistical advisor, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain customer, volume, and revenue forecasts to support operational planning, financial analysis, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform variance analysis, identify key drivers of change, and prepare clear, concise reports for management and regulatory submissions.
- Support regulatory applications and filings, including demand forecasting, revenue studies, and supporting analytical documentation.
- Serve as a statistical and analytical advisor to internal stakeholders across finance, regulatory, and business teams.
- Design and deliver dashboards and analytical reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Python, or similar platforms.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within customer usage and market dynamics.
- Ensure analytical models and forecasts align with regulatory standards, data governance practices, and industry best practices.
- Continuously improve forecasting methodologies and analytical processes through research and innovation.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
- 4+ years of experience in forecasting, data analysis, or statistical modeling roles.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex quantitative information clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI, Python, Tableau, SQL, or similar technologies.
Preferred:
- Experience within North American energy markets, particularly natural gas utilities.
- Knowledge of Ontario gas regulation and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with Enbridge Gas products or similar energy trading and risk‑management platforms.
- Experience using specialized statistical software, forecasting models, and enterprise databases.
- Advanced degree (Master’s) in a quantitative, economic, or business discipline.
