Description: 

The Damage Prevention Analyst is responsible for processing One Call tickets and triaging them to Operations. This role covers gas transmission pipelines throughout Canada and the US, with occasional support outside these areas as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Team Lead Reporting & One Call in developing a standardized One Call process for Gas Transmission and Midstream (GTM).
  • Communicate with State and Provincial One Call Centers to ensure compliance and effective ticket management.
  • Ensure documentation compliance and timely triage of One Call Tickets.
  • Notify Operations and provide necessary information for locating and marking activities related to One Call tickets.
  • Support system issues and enhancements for the One Call Ticketing System.
  • Identify activities along the pipeline corridor that may pose threats to the GTM system and external parties that could present risks.
  • Support investigations into potential unauthorized activities and near misses.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve the program's effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide general program support to the Team Lead Reporting & One Call.

Scope/Dimensions:

  • Damage Prevention is essential for the safety of people, assets, and communities.
  • The Damage Prevention Program and Process are regulatory requirements in both the US and Canada.
  • Applicable to all GTM assets, the program implements processes and controls to ensure safety.

Contacts (Working Relationships):

  • Internal: Peers in all business units, field personnel, supervisors, managers, and directors.
  • Internal: Works closely with Crossings, Safety & Reliability Team, PAC, GTM Field Operations, Asset Integrity & Technical Services Teams, including Integrity, Risk, and IMS teams.
  • External: Peers in the pipeline industry, regulators, auditors, one call centers (US & Canada), excavators, and industry audiences.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Required:

  • A related university degree with limited previous experience, or four plus years of related experience, or an equivalent mix of formal education and experience.
  • Strong map reading skills.
  • Knowledge of Canadian and US Provincial/State and Federal Regulations.
  • Familiarity with Canadian and US One Call Regulations (811 & Click Before You Dig).
  • Understanding of various One Call ticket management programs and systems.
  • Effective communication skills, including strong written, verbal, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a self-guided environment, managing multiple tasks in a time-sensitive setting.

Preferred:

  • Post-secondary education.
  • Minimum of four years of industry experience in a Damage Prevention/One Call related role, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Field-related experience, such as One Calls or Line Locating, is an asset.
  • Experience interacting with Regulators and One Call Centers.
  • Experience with screening or submitting One Call tickets.
  • Proficiency in using One Call Management software, such as IRTH Utilisphere.
  • Experience with GIS systems.
  • Knowledge of industry networks and associations.

  • Typical Office Environment
  • Travel 10 – 15%
