  • You will serve as a subject matter expert on integrity-related matters, provide technical guidance to internal stakeholders, and lead the preparation of technical analyses and documentation. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of natural gas distribution assets through a rigorous, risk-based integrity management approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CSA Z662
  • Ontario Regulation 210/01
  • Requirements prescribed by provincial and federal regulatory authorities (e.g., Ontario Energy Board (OEB) and Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA)).
  • Perform thorough integrity assessments using available asset, inspection, and operational data.
  • Identify, investigate, assess, and prioritize all Enhanced DIMP-related hazards, ensuring risks are effectively mitigated.
  • Assess asset hazards to develop a comprehensive understanding of:
  • Asset condition and fitness for service
  • Operational and integrity risks
  • This includes applying knowledge of operating practices, design requirements, manufacturing practices, integrity inspections, anomaly assessments, cost analysis, process safety, fluid mechanics, metallurgy, welding, and corrosion.
  • Develop and maintain Enhanced DIMP documentation in alignment with internal company processes and governance standards.
  • Continuously improve the Enhanced DIMP program by incorporating:
  • Management and effectiveness review outcomes
  • External independent validation observations
  • Internal assessment findings
  • Update program documentation accordingly.
  • Support the development, review, and refinement of risk model inputs related to Enhanced DIMP assets.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to develop risk-based integrity plans and issue actionable recommendations.
  • Work cross-functionally to define, evaluate, and implement integrity risk mitigation strategies and scenarios for Enhanced DIMP assets, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or another Canadian jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pipeline engineering, pipeline integrity, or gas transmission and distribution operations.
  • Strong experience and understanding of:
  • Pipeline design and construction practices
  • Field operations and operational risk
  • Non-destructive inspection (NDI/NDT) methods for natural gas pipelines
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.

Working Conditions:
