About the Role: 

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Planner/Scheduler to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to exciting projects with budgets of up to $50 million annually, typically with durations of two years or less and elevated complexity. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects using Primavera P6 to develop comprehensive project schedules.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge and experience with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS), and resource structures to effectively resource load schedules.
  • Apply best practices to enhance products or services, innovatively addressing complex problems by taking new perspectives.
  • Operate independently with minimal guidance, acting as a resource for less experienced colleagues and potentially directing the work of other team members.
  • Develop, document, and implement processes and procedures within specific functional areas.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of training materials to smaller groups.
  • Participate frequently on internal committees and work as a vital part of a project team, occasionally leading tasks.
  • Competently use and maintain the SETW Project Management System, providing essential support to the projects department.
  • Conduct independent studies, analyses, interprets findings, and make conclusions. Complex decisions are referred to senior management.
  • Offer guidance and advice, especially on unusual features of assignments.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to other planners or project members engaged in a common project.
  • Demonstrates the ability to make independent studies, analyses, interpretations, and conclusions. Complex or unusual decisions are escalated to more senior authorities.
  • Works with varying degrees of supervision based on assignment needs.
  • Offers guidance to other Planners or project members on shared projects and qualifies as a high performer prior to advancing to Senior Project Control Specialist.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering or equivalent.
  • P.Eng certification or its international equivalent is preferred.
  • 4-7 years of working experience, with at least 1 year in construction or project management.
  • Proven high performer, as evidenced by prior performance reviews.
  • Working towards or holder of Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) designation.
