About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Technology & Information Services (TIS) team. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver complex transformational projects in alignment with our PMO methodology. You will lead large-scale projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet business needs and expectations. Additionally, you will mentor project managers to enhance team capabilities and collaborate with PMO and leadership teams to improve project delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead full-time project management activities for complex, large-scale transformational projects.
- Proactively manage scope, cost, schedule, quality, and risk to deliver maximum value to stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive business cases, project charters, and project plans, including financial and resource plans.
- Negotiate and manage external vendors and stakeholder groups for project and program delivery.
- Monitor vendor performance and resolve discrepancies with the Vendor Management Office (VMO) as needed.
- Build relationships with senior leaders and ensure quality, risks, and issues are documented and communicated.
- Manage dependencies across a complex technology and business process landscape, ensuring integrated solution design.
- Lead and coordinate medium to large-scale project teams across multiple departments.
- Manage projects according to TIS PMO standards, utilizing both PMBOK Waterfall and Agile methods.
- Balance priorities, constraints, and objectives of multiple simultaneous projects and complex programs.
- Develop, review, and facilitate approval for project deliverables.
- Utilize organizational change management processes to ensure seamless deployment and communication.
- Collaborate with Business Relationship Managers and Application Operations Managers to develop Business Cases, SOWs, RFPs, and RFQs.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project and solution teams, enhancing team capabilities and project delivery processes.
- Continuously evaluate internal processes for efficiency and propose improvements as needed.
- Communicate effectively and influence at all organizational levels.
Scope/Dimensions:
- Accountable for multiple complex transformational projects and programs spanning multiple departments, technologies, and stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrate broad business acumen and technical knowledge in project management and risk mitigation.
- Lead and develop teams and processes, making recommendations to maximize project payback.
Working Relationships:
- Internal: Business Stakeholders, TIS Business Relationship Managers, TIS Build and Run teams, TIS Enterprise Shared Services.
- External: Third-party vendors, service providers, and consultants.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
- 10+ years of progressive project management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organization, planning, and leadership skills.
- Collaborative, team-oriented work style.
- Motivated self-starter with a commitment to continuous learning and development.
- Ability to travel and manage projects throughout Canada and the United States.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with occasional travel.
- Fast-paced work environment requiring balancing multiple projects with hard deadlines.
- Availability for off-hours contact to support critical issues.
