About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Field Operator for the Sarnia Area to manage and coordinate operations with the Edmonton Control Centre. The ideal candidate will ensure the accurate routing of deliveries and receipts to Enbridge and Sarnia Area refinery facilities, perform sampling and testing of crude oil, and maintain a high regard for safety and environmental standards.
Primary Focus:
- Coordinate operations with Edmonton Control Centre personnel for routing deliveries and receipts to Enbridge and Sarnia Area refinery facilities.
- Perform required sampling and testing of crude oil to ensure all measurement equipment operates accurately.
- Execute all duties with a high regard for safety and the environment.
- Conduct maintenance and housekeeping duties within the Sarnia Area.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Measure, test, and sample crude oil and Natural Gas Liquids; document checks on all measurement devices at receipt and delivery meter manifolds and at Sarnia Terminal.
- Witness the proving of meters at Enbridge and Sarnia Area Refineries; verify meter proving reports for acceptance of meter factors.
- Account for delivery/receipt volumes in the Sarnia area.
- Operate the Sarnia Area master flow computer.
- Collect Quality Assurance Sampling (QAS), conduct testing, and prepare samples for shipment to outside laboratories; conduct required checks on equipment and maintain logs.
- Perform general housekeeping duties of Sample Lab, Terminal buildings, and Sun Metering Building, including the upkeep of gauging and sampling equipment.
- Act as first responder for Tank Farm emergencies; assume responsibility of the Sarnia Terminal in the absence of local management.
- Conduct routine inspections, level accuracy checks, and annual tank bottoms survey.
- Perform other related terminal duties such as security checks, vehicle maintenance, etc.
- Conduct integrity checks on Terminal equipment such as respiratory protection, gas detectors, fire extinguishers, etc.

Typical Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Supplementary Technical education considered an asset
- Completion of internal Measurement Training Course for Gauger’s position
- Intermediate Computer Skills
