About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our team. This role serves as a critical bridge between our IT department and various business units, including asset integrity, operational compliance, gas control, and asset management. The successful candidate will facilitate effective communication, ensuring both sides understand each other's perspectives and requirements, leading to smoother collaboration and project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a direct liaison to functional process owners in pipeline operations departments.
  • Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications and manage changes to these specifications.
  • Assist in determining which business requirements can be automated and how they integrate with other processes.
  • Maintain functional peer relationships and a detailed working knowledge of systems, organization, and business processes.
  • Participate in requirements prioritization and assist in defining project scope and success criteria.
  • Perform project management tasks, including task assignment, tracking, and managing project documentation, issues, and change requests.
  • Partner with the development team to provide reporting and status on project deliverables.
  • Ensure proposed solutions are feasible and align with strategic goals, validating that they deliver expected value.
  • Coordinate and participate in testing activities.
  • Help stakeholders understand the impact of changes and ensure smooth implementation.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve business processes and systems.
  • Analyze performance data, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Criteria & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of systems analysis, programming, or other IT-related experience.
  • Complete understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to translate technical information into terms understandable by non-IT personnel.
  • Adept at interacting in both business and IT-focused discussions.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with clients and suppliers.
  • Proficient at operating within a North American distributed team.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiarity with pipeline operations departments such as asset integrity, operational compliance, gas control, and asset management.
  • Knowledge of technologies such as databases, GIS, Power BI, and automation is a plus.
  • Business Analysis or Project Management certifications are a plus.
