Job Overview

The Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, detailing, expanding, and maintaining integrated project schedules for one or more assigned Major Projects within the client’s portfolio. This role works closely with cross-functional project teams to ensure accurate planning, performance tracking, and critical-path management throughout the project lifecycle. The Project Scheduler provides technical expertise in scheduling, logistics, and planning to support successful execution of complex capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules in collaboration with project stakeholders
  • Adhere to enterprise scheduling standards, including development and implementation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
  • Update and refine schedules as projects progress through development and execution stages, incorporating earned-value data and construction tracking inputs
  • Analyze schedule performance and communicate impacts, risks, and variances to the Project Manager
  • Evaluate impacts of schedule updates on baseline plans and ensure resource requirements are incorporated throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop and monitor schedule performance indicators
  • Provide technical guidance on scheduling, planning, and logistics
  • Develop detailed “what-if” scenario schedules to evaluate options and identify critical path elements and logic-driven alternatives
  • Represent the department in coordinating internal and external project activities with customers, partners, and consultants
  • Provide technical and business input for project documentation, including reports, schedule updates, and completion requirements
  • Interface with project stakeholders to gather accurate and timely information for critical-path management
  • Ensure required reports and cost data are delivered accurately and on schedule

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based environment
  • Occasional overnight travel for business or construction field visits
  • Periodic travel to field worksites; use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of experience supporting Engineering and Construction capital projects; pipeline industry experience preferred
  • Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently as a senior scheduling/logistics professional
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Ability to analyze and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EcoSys, Oracle Cloud, and Power BI
