Enbridge is hiring a Project Buyer right now—when you apply, Raise will review your application within 48 hours and contact qualified applicants for interviews.

About the Role:

  • Do you thrive in managing complex procurement processes, ensuring compliance, and serving as a strategic partner to a large, fast‑moving project team? As a Project Buyer IV (contractor), you will oversee end‑to‑end procurement activities from competitive bidding to purchase order issuance, supporting the successful execution of a major capital expansion program.
  • In this role, you will collaborate closely with Supply Chain Management (SCM), Category Management, and Project leadership to develop sourcing strategies, secure high‑value equipment and services, and ensure that project timelines and commercial objectives are met. If you excel in strategic thinking, problem‑solving, negotiation, and cross‑functional coordination, we’d love to have you on our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project sourcing for complex, long‑lead, and high‑value equipment, as well as major services contracts supporting a capital expansion project.
  • Assess market conditions and identify when early commitments are required to secure supplier capacity and support in‑service dates.
  • Collaborate with SCM Business Partners, Category Managers, and Project Teams to develop sourcing strategies for complex materials and services.
  • Manage the complete sourcing lifecycle, including development of RFX packages, bid solicitation, bid tab evaluation, technical and commercial clarifications, negotiation, and contract execution.
  • Mark up and negotiate complex commercial contracts, clearly explaining deviations from standard terms to internal stakeholders and developing acceptable alternatives when required.
  • Lead planning, forecasting, reporting, and communication of SCM activities for assigned project scopes.
  • Support the development and execution of risk mitigation plans and processes.
  • Collaborate with Governance, Quality, Legal, Expediting, and other SCM functions to meet project deliverables and compliance expectations.
  • Ensure adherence to SCM policies, procedures, and enterprise governance requirements.
  • Monitor and manage supplier relationships and performance with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize ERP systems (including Oracle R12 or Oracle Cloud) for purchase order creation and lifecycle management.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
  • (equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered).
  • Minimum 7 years of SCM experience.
  • Demonstrated experience purchasing complex equipment for large energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with proven ability to influence and persuade stakeholders.
  • Experience negotiating complex commercial contracts and addressing deviations from standard terms.
  • Advanced knowledge of RFx development and execution, contract preparation, and contract management.
  • Strong capabilities in supplier performance monitoring and relationship management.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, specifically Oracle R12 or Oracle Cloud, for procurement and PO processes.

Preferred:

  • 10+ years of procurement experience within the liquids, natural gas, or hydrocarbon energy sector.
  • Postgraduate degree or MBA.
  • Professional certifications such as SCMP, CPSM, or equivalent.

Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment.
