Position Overview:
The Buyer III will play a crucial role in managing procurement activities, ensuring effective and efficient procurement of goods and services. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with RFx processes, demonstrate exceptional communication and organizational skills, and possess the ability to address complex procurement issues. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional departments and direct involvement with various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end procurement process for goods and services, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
- Develop and execute RFx (Request for Proposal, Request for Quotation, Request for Information) strategies to obtain competitive bids and achieve cost-effective solutions.
- Issue and manage purchase orders/service orders, ensuring accuracy and alignment with stakeholder needs and contractual agreements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to understand project requirements and align procurement strategies accordingly.
- Address and resolve complex procurement issues, providing innovative solutions to meet business needs.
- Mentor and train junior staff members, fostering an environment of continuous learning and development within the procurement team.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth procurement operations.
- Evaluate and analyze supplier performance, negotiating terms and contracts to optimize value for the company.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Ensure that all procurement activities are documented accurately and filed according to compliance and audit requirements.
Qualifications:
- A related university degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, such as Purchasing/Supply Chain Management, B. Comm, or Finance.
- Professional certification such as SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or equivalent is required.
- 8-10 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in supply chain/procurement/contracts, with a strong background in procurement.
- Capability to effectively communicate within a team environment and establish strong working relationships.
- Demonstrated application of relevant knowledge of Supply Chain systems (SAP/Oracle) in business situations without reliance on reference guides.
- Ability to influence stakeholders/customers without direct authority, with a solid understanding of leading supply chain techniques (e.g., total cost ownership principles, category management, strategic sourcing models, supplier qualification methodology).
- Excels in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, adeptly managing a large volume of requests.
- Demonstrates outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Possesses superior communication skills with an emphasis on collaborating effectively with internal customers to deliver exceptional service. Capable of translating technical concepts for a non-technical audience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
