Job Overview

The Project Accounting Advisor IV will collaborate with Project and Program Managers to perform cost management activities for the PCSLD, ensuring that monthly financial reporting deadlines are met. This role involves compiling and reconciling accounting transactions, preparing accruals, assessing timesheet entries, and supporting reporting, including variance reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project and Program Managers to execute cost management activities for the PCSLD, ensuring timely monthly financial reporting.
  • Compile and reconcile accounting transactions, prepare accruals, and assess timesheet entries to support reporting, including variance analysis.
  • Maintain and report on PCSLD Portfolio financial controls, including the submission of project financials into accounting systems.
  • Set up, close out, and maintain the work breakdown structure and budgets throughout the project life cycle in reporting systems such as Oracle, Copperleaf, and EPPRT.
  • Support Procure to Pay processes, including monitoring commitments, entering Purchase Order Requests, goods or services receiving, and invoice coding. Troubleshoot and liaise with vendors and other internal stakeholders.
  • Confirm and transact changes to Project Forecasts and Budgets.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and cost center reporting.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in project cost control with keen attention to detail.
  • Accounting education and credentials.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other basic database applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Efficient time management skills to oversee multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment or independently.
  • Experience and ability using ERP systems.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation.
  • Background in the oil and gas industry.
