About the Role

A full-time permanent position as a Protective Coatings Key Account Manager for Dulux NZ. It is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Protective Coatings individual to join our team. This role can be based centrally from Taupo down to Wellington. This is a fantastic role working with one of the most recognised brands in the coatings industry.

You will manage a portfolio of clients with your key focus to be growing and maintaining the existing Dulux customer base. Primarily you will be responsible for our core PC customers within the construction sector, however there will be opportunity for you to grow your customer base with out of the box thinking. Much of your day can be spent out in the field, but this is a highly autonomous role, so professionalism & a high level of communication are skills you possess.

The Dulux Protective Coatings Team is passionate about being consumer driven and customer focused. We ask, listen, learn and act to help our customers win. As a high performing, experienced key account manager you will be able to articulate and demonstrate how your authentic sales and advice style and ability to close has led to your success so far.

Skills & Experience 

To be successful in this role you will have a passion for exceeding customer expectations and a natural talent for developing relationships. You will be motivated by chasing and closing a sale and ideally will have experience with:

  • A background in coatings
  • B2B sales, including cold calling and new client generation
  • Technical - NACE (Level 1-2) will be highly advantageous
  • Experience with Quantifire Intumescent Loading software -will be highly advantageous
  • Specification - experience writing or knowledge of the specification process
  • Strong communications skills and commercial acumen
  • Protective Coatings -related industry knowledge is desirable. The right enthusiasm for the role is key
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to harness established customer relationships and create new ones
  • Good time management, planning and organization behaviors
  • Great energy and enthusiasm with a genuine, down to earth attitude
