The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Research & Development Scientist to join the Selleys team. Responsible for all technical aspects of product development and commercialisation, you will work with a strong sense of ownership and thrive on the opportunity to identify and introduce new technologies and ideas, with a view to enhancing Selleys strong leadership in the market.

This role offers a chance to develop a rewarding career within a team of talented and experienced R&D professionals. The role also provides fantastic opportunities to work closely with other departments within Selleys - Marketing, Sales, Procurement, Operations - and gives you the opportunity to provide input into and influence how products are developed and marketed; from what raw materials to use, to what appears on the product label, to helping our sales executives effectively explain and recommend our products to consumers.

What you will bring and develop

You’ll bring clear and professional communication skills, an eye for detail and a commitment to quality. As a great team player, you’ll be able to self-manage and work collaboratively with your peers in a constantly growing environment.

Other key skills and experience include:

  • Degree in an area of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other STEM related field
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Complex problem-solving skills; ability to clearly identify root cause and implement solutions.
  • Using scientific and formulation knowledge to develop creative solutions in line with project objectives and consumer insight.
  • Drive & passion for innovation!!!

In addition to these, if you also have experience in the below areas, we are also very keen to hear from you!

  • Previous formulation experience in sealants, adhesives & fillers, surface coatings or related industry.
  • Knowledge of DOE (Design of Experiment) methodology
