What You’ll Be Doing

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Delivery Driver/Retail Assistant to join our Queenstown Dulux Trade Centre. This is a permanent full-time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday with rostered Saturdays. Saturdays will be paid above your salary.

As our occasional Delivery Driver you will work as part of a team and, autonomously, providing service and support to our range of customers. You’ll enjoy variety of work and have the potential to learn new skills and grow within our expanding business. You will help in the store when delivery duties are complete.

A Full NZ Driver Licence is required, and delivery driver experience is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Customer service/ Cash handling / EFTPOS
  • Accurately mix and tint paint
  • Assist in maintaining stock levels
  • Comply with safety standards
  • Develop strong working relationships with depot/agencies
  • Manual handling
  • Ensure high levels of customer service are maintained
  • Load and unload product
  • Drive vehicle in order to transport materials to and from specified destinations in an orderly and timely manner whilst obeying the relevant road rules
  • Read maps and follow written and verbal geographic directions
  • Verify the contents of inventory loads against purchase orders and or delivery dockets
  • Maintain records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with regulations and report any faults with the vehicle to management
  • It's important the ideal candidate must be fit and able to lift accumulative loads on a daily basis.

What We’re Looking for

You'll need a good level of physical strength – you will need to move heavy product of up to 25kg. You are confident with people, have great communication skills and can easily build strong relationships with peers, customers, clients etc. You are able to demonstrate a level of physical ability to work with our paint and other heavy products in store at times. In addition, you will bring to the role:

  • Current and full NZ driver’s license essential
  • Paint product and application/ hardware experience will be highly regarded but not essential
  • Have the ability to communicate clearly with customers
  • Enjoy building relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Confident and outgoing personality
