What You’ll Be Doing
We’re looking for an experienced and commercially driven Area Sales Manager – Trade to lead and grow our Trade business across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty region.
This is a hands‑on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys being out in market, developing people, lifting sales capability and driving new business growth.
Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will take leadership of a highly experienced team of Trade Sales Representatives, supporting them to lift performance, strengthen customer relationships and unlock new growth opportunities.
A key focus of the role is sales coaching and capability development. You’ll work closely with the team both in the field and in structured sessions to embed strong sales process, trusted advisor thinking and disciplined execution.
You’ll also play a critical role in new business acquisition, supporting the team to pursue larger and more complex opportunities across construction, development and architectural customers, while maintaining strong relationships with key applicators and trade customers.

What we're looking for
- Proven experience leading and coaching sales teams
- Strong background in sales capability, sales process or sales training delivery
- A hands‑on leadership style with the ability to balance support and accountability
- Commercially astute, with experience driving new business growth
- Comfortable engaging across environments – from on‑site trade discussions to senior stakeholder and boardroom conversations
- Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills
- Previous industry experience in trade, construction or manufacturing is desirable, but not essential
