Your Role

B&D Group is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to join our R&D and Model Shop team in Revesby. This is a highly hands‑on, workshop‑based role supporting end‑to‑end product development through physical testing, validation and continuous improvement. This position suits someone who enjoys practical problem‑solving and working closely with engineers—not a desk‑based engineering role.

The Test Engineer provides critical technical and practical support to Product Development Engineering and Door (and Opener) teams. You will build and design test rigs, install and test garage doors, conduct physical and lifecycle testing, and produce structured test reports. Your work will directly contribute to improving product safety, compliance, performance and sustainability across B&D’s product range.

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrated experience in testing, validation and product development
  • Strong hands‑on mechanical, machining and fabrication skills
  • Experience designing test rigs and working to standards
  • Able to read engineering drawings and diagnose failures
  • Test documentation, reporting and data analysis experience
  • MS Word/Excel, basic CAD; strong communication skills
  • Fitter & Machinist / Mechanical trade or equivalent
  • Mechanical Engineering Certificate (or similar)
