About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, you will be responsible to lead and implement new product development projects and effectively manage the timely delivery of products and projects into the trade and reseller markets.

You will partner with peers and stakeholders to develop & deliver cohesive, differentiated consumer engagement and brand activation plans to achieve brand outcomes.

In this exciting, complex role, you will ensure all channels of trade and retail sales teams are set up for success to support the Commercial and Specialty categories in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement New Product Development projects through the stage gate process, and provide effective project management skills to ensure timely delivery of products and projects
  • Own the day-to-day product management of the Porter’s Paints, Dulux AcraTex, Specialized Construction Products and Accessories portfolios
  • Use data, customer and market insights to ensure that we carry the right range for our consumers and customers
  • Product Administration; ownership and maintenance of product data in the market, in published materials (internally & externally) and on digital platforms
  • Provide insight and information to support forecasting and management of product with the demand planning team
  • Drive the internal sell in of campaigns and product launches to sales teams, customer service centre, Dulux Trade Centres (DTC) and Dulux Trade Depots (DTD), Resellers
  • Deliver our product training and engagement programmes
  • Develop and implement a cohesive, long-term category and brand to deliver profitable growth.
  • Adaptation of imported products to the NZ market

Skills and Experience

This is a role with real impact, so you’ll need the ability to work collaboratively and proactively with multiple stakeholders. Being agile and resilient, ideally you can demonstrate: 

  • Ideally a minimum of 3 years Marketing experience in a marketing role or a commercial environment where you have been interfacing with external customers or different stakeholders
  • Working understanding of Project Management and Stage Gate Process desirable
  • A degree qualification, ideally in Marketing/ or a commerce discipline
  • Proven track record in managing multiple projects and the use of project management tools
  • Proven track record to manage or develop product / category with sound business acumen
  • Successful track record of delivering commercial outcomes
  • Passion and experience in new product development
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop strong internal and external relationships
  • Understanding or experience in a manufacturing/product development environment
