Your Role

We are seeking an experienced Product Specification Engineer to play a critical role in a major specification uplift program across our door portfolio.

This role exists to document, standardise and uplift engineering specifications and drawings so they can be consistently applied across multiple manufacturing plants. You’ll be capturing decades of product and manufacturing knowledge and translating it into clear, repeatable standards that reduce variation, rework and quality issues.

This position replaces a key capability previously held by a long-tenured engineer and sits at the centre of a business‑wide improvement initiative that is already underway.

This role is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend.

Responsibilities

• Create and standardise engineering drawings and product specifications
• Validate build practices on the shop floor across multiple manufacturing plants
• Produce and update CAD models and drawings (primarily Creo), including from incomplete documentation
• Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to reduce variation, errors and rework

Skills and Experience

• Mechanical Engineering degree or TAFE Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Drafting qualification
• Creo experience highly preferred (SolidWorks considered with strong capability and willingness to transition)
• Solid understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes and tolerancing
• Comfortable working deep in drawings, specifications and technical detail
• Experience in manufacturing environments (metal processing, fabrication or complex mechanical products preferred)
• Industry background is flexible – strong transferable mechanical skills are key
