A vacancy for a Second Cook has arisen at Doutta Galla Aged Services - Queens Park, Moonee Ponds.
In this role you will prepare nutritious meals and share a warm smile during meal service, creating moments that matter.
This is a part time position working Saturdays 0700 to 1500.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals for residents
- Follow menu plans and dietary requirements including texture-modified diets
- Support with food preparation and kitchen operations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist with stock rotation and basic inventory tasks
What you will bring:
- Previous experience working as an aged care cook
- Understanding of special dietary requirements
- A passion for providing a quality, relationship-based service
- Current Food Handling / Food Safety Certificate
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of food safety regulations, guidelines, standards and relevant legislation
- Knowledge of OH&S and infection control specific to catering
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a leader and as part of a team
- Effective and positive communication skills
- Excellent time management
