As our Assistant Cafe Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional hospitality experiences while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the cafe.

What are your responsibilities:

  • Leading and supporting the front-of-house team to create a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
  • Assisting with the daily operations of the café, ensuring efficiency, quality and consistency across all service periods.
  • Supporting the training, coaching and ongoing development of team members.
  • Assisting with stock control, ordering and inventory management to maintain operational readiness.
  • Coordinating and supporting catering functions as required, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional service delivery.
  • Maintaining high presentation standards and operational excellence throughout the venue.
  • Building strong working relationships and collaborating effectively with venue management and key stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Please note you will be required to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.

Your experience:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory, team leader or assistant management role within a hospitality or café environment is essential.
  • Experience in café operations, including stock control, inventory management, cash handling, and daily reporting.
  • Excellent organisational, administrative and problem-solving skills.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, management, and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to inspire, motivate, coach, and develop team members to achieve individual and team success.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build strong relationships with guests, colleagues, management, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to operational excellence, ensuring consistently high standards of service, presentation, cleanliness, and compliance in a fast-paced environment.
