The Role

Reporting to the General Manager of El Questro and based at Emma Gorge (45 minutes from The Station), the Operations Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering the exceptional guest experiences the property is known for. Leading a team of 50, you will bring strong hospitality expertise and confidently oversee operations, support cross-functional teams, and ensure the safe, efficient running of the site. This hands-on role suits a visible, results-driven leader committed to high service standards in a relaxed outback environment.

Duties

  • Manage the Emma Gorge property overseeing Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, and working closely with Maintenance.
  • Be the face of the property, welcoming guests and exceeding their expectations.
  • Foster a passionate and professional culture, leading by example and inspiring your team.
  • Deliver personalised guest experiences to the highest standard.
  • Oversee financials, including staff rostering, with support from the General Manager.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven hospitality leadership experience, ideally in a remote or outback environment
  • Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Confident and accountable operational leader with sound decision-making skills
  • Calm, adaptable, and solutions-focused in fast-paced, dynamic settings
  • Experience managing guest groups and delivering premium food and beverage offerings
  • Front office experience and proficiency in RMS or similar property management systems highly regarded
  • Passion for guest service and the ability to lead, develop, and build high-performing teams

Qualifications

  • Approved Manager Card, WA Liquor Licensing (essential).
  • Food Safety Certificate (essential).
  • Manual/Open Driver's License (essential).
  • Advanced First Aid/First Aid Certificate (essential).
  • Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent (desirable).


This role is located in outback Australia, where you will be living and working at El Questro. As such, please consider the reality of living in a remote location for an extended period of time.

This role includes extensive manual handling tasks including lifting up to 20kg kneeling and squatting, as well as handling chemicals and utilising machinery
