The Role
As the Chef De Partie at the El Questro Homestead, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional, efficient and effective food service, supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of a high-end kitchen. Working shifts across breakfast and lunch service, you will maintain an unwavering focus on delivering a memorable guest experience through refined cuisine, attentive service and consistent quality.
At the El Questro Homestead, dining is an intimate and elevated experience, offering guests a premium selection of breakfast, à la carte dining, curated group menus and bespoke dining experiences. You will prepare dishes that reflect the Homestead’s luxury standards, ensuring every meal is beautifully presented, timely and memorable.
You will assist in overseeing kitchen team members, including training, mentoring and supporting performance development. In addition to preparing breakfast and lunch service for in-house guests, you will work closely with front of house staff to ensure seamless, professional and efficient service delivery throughout each day.
About You
In order to be successful in this role you will need:
- Previous Chef experience and cooking in a similar environment
- Formal trade qualifications in commercial cooking or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in electronic purchase ordering and cost management
- Proven experience in planning and developing menus
- Proven ability to work within a team and autonomously
- Ability to prep and organise ahead
- Current First Aid Certificate is highly desirable
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- HACCP experience essential, with a high emphasis on food hygiene
- Current drivers license

This role may involve extensive manual handling tasks including lifting up to 20kg kneeling and squatting, as well as handling chemicals and utilising machinery.
