Triple J Tours – Explore the Kimberley Like Never Before

Experience the awe-inspiring Kimberley with Triple J Tours, where pristine waterways and ancient landscapes meet unforgettable adventure. From cruising the majestic Ord River to showcasing cultural marvels, we deliver world-class experiences with a team that’s passionate about exploration.

The Role

*please note that this role is located in The Kimberley Region, Western Australia*

Triple J Tours is all about showcasing the magic of the Ord River and East Kimberley region — and we’re looking for a Skipper Team Leader to do just that. This isn’t just a driving-the-boat role (although yes, you’ll need to do that too). It’s about storytelling, guest connection, and leading a team of guides who bring this unique part of Australia to life for visitors from all over the world.

You’ll operate our fleet of tour boats, entertain and educate guests, and guide a small team of skippers to deliver consistently excellent tour experiences. This is a leadership role for someone who’s calm, capable, and passionate about people - both guests and team.

You’ll be stepping into a high-performing team that guests know, love and trust - but don’t just take our word for it. Check out what our visitors have to say:

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading by example on our daily Ord River and Lake Argyle tours
  • Telling the story of the landscape - from wildlife to history to culture - in an engaging, respectful, and professional way
  • Coaching and mentoring the skipper/tour guide team to deliver high-quality guest experiences
  • Assisting with roster coordination, daily logistics and on-water support
  • Keeping safety front of mind while creating relaxed, memorable tours
  • Liaising with operations to ensure smooth sailing (literally and figuratively)

What You’ll Need

  • Current Master 5 qualification
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • A natural gift for storytelling and strong people and leadership skills
  • Previous experience running or guiding tours - ideally on the water
  • Someone who’s passionate about the East Kimberley, or excited to become an expert

What’s In It For You

  • A full-time ongoing leadership role in one of Australia’s most incredible landscapes
  • Subsidised accommodation and competitive salary
  • A close-knit, down-to-earth team that genuinely love what they do
  • Sunrises, crocs (the friendly kind), and a river that changes every day
  • Exclusive Perks – Discounts on flights, accommodation, car hire, and more across 300+ Discovery Parks and G’Day Group locations.
