Discovery Parks – Rottnest Island features 83 luxury eco-tents across several service levels, a resort-style pool, and Pinky’s Restaurant offering indoor and outdoor dining with spectacular coastal views.As a Porter / Resort All-Rounder, you’ll play an important role in ensuring guests enjoy a seamless and memorable stay from arrival through to departure.

This hands-on position suits someone who enjoys variety, guest interaction, and working across multiple areas of park operations. While your primary responsibility will be guest transfers and porter services, you’ll also support operational teams across the property when required.

No two days are the same — you’ll be part of a collaborative team ensuring the resort operates smoothly across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Transfer of guest luggage between ferry arrivals and accommodation
  • Guest transfers between airport and property
  • Delivering exceptional guest service and local knowledge
  • Supporting housekeeping and maintenance teams during busy periods
  • Upkeep and presentation of park grounds and gardens
  • General maintenance tasks across park assets and facilities
  • Cleaning and maintaining communal areas including BBQs and amenities
  • Assisting with daily park operational requirements as needed
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, operational and brand standards

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a porter, grounds, maintenance or hospitality all-rounder role
  • Current valid driver’s licence (manual driving essential)
  • Ability to safely operate powered hand tools and equipment
  • Physically fit with ability to perform manual handling tasks
  • Positive, proactive and team-focused attitude
  • Strong communication and guest service skills
  • Flexibility to work across departments and a 7-day roster
  • Sound WHS awareness and safe manual handling practices
  • Pool maintenance experience (advantageous but not essential)

This role involves physical tasks including lifting (up to 20kg), kneeling, squatting, and working with equipment, machinery and cleaning chemicals.
