The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager – Food & Beverage plays a critical role in overseeing and leading all food and beverage operations on Rottnest Island. This role is responsible for delivering outstanding guest experiences across multiple venues while ensuring strong operational, financial, and compliance outcomes.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a confident and adaptable hospitality professional who leads from the front. You will work closely with venue managers and frontline teams to maintain high service standards, drive performance, and foster a positive and engaged workplace culture in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
We’re looking for a commercially minded leader with strong operational expertise in food and beverage, who thrives in unique locations and is passionate about delivering memorable guest experiences.
Duties
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple food and beverage outlets
- Lead, coach, and develop F&B leadership and frontline teams
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service and food standards
- Manage rosters, labour costs, and workforce planning
- Oversee budgets, cost control, stock management, and financial performance
- Ensure compliance with WHS, food safety, and liquor licensing requirements
- Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and guest satisfaction
- Act as a key operational liaison between teams, General Manager, and Head Office
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a senior Food & Beverage or Hospitality Operations role
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing large, diverse teams
- Solid commercial acumen, including budgeting and cost control
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and solutions-focused in a seasonal environment
- Experience in resort, island, or remote operations highly regarded
Qualifications
- Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent (advantageous)
- Approved Manager Card (WA Liquor Licensing) required
- Food Safety Certificate required
- Manual/Open Driver’s Licence required
- First Aid or Advanced First Aid Certificate favourable
