As the General Manager of Cradle Mountain, you’ll be at the helm of this truly unique and iconic resort, delivering unforgettable experiences to guests who come from around the world to explore this extraordinary place. Duties

  • Overseeing all aspects of resort operations, including accommodation, food & beverage, and guest experiences.
  • Leading a high-performing team, providing mentorship and support to ensure excellence across all departments.
  • Creating unforgettable moments for guests, exceeding expectations while maintaining strong cost control.
  • Driving strategic growth, managing budgets, and ensuring long-term success.
  • Engaging with the local community, upholding the resort’s outstanding reputation.
  • Rolling up your sleeves when needed—this is a hands-on role in a remote yet thriving environment.

Skills & Experience

You’re an experienced hospitality leader who thrives in remote, fast-paced environments. You’re commercially savvy, a natural problem-solver, and a true people person who can motivate a team and create incredible guest experiences.

  • Proven leadership experience in resorts, remote operations, or multi-outlet venues.
  • Strong commercial acumen – budgeting, P&L analysis, and financial planning.
  • A hands-on approach with a deep understanding of remote tourism challenges.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant hospitality qualifications, including RSA and Food Safety certifications.

This is a remote role, where you will be living and working at Cradle Mountain. As such, please consider the reality of living in a remote location for an extended period of time. This role includes extensive manual handling tasks including lifting up to 20kg kneeling and squatting, as well as handling chemicals and utilising machinery
