The role

Discovery Parks – Argylla is located in Mt Isa, a well‑serviced regional centre in Northwest Queensland that supports tourism, mining and long‑stay travellers. The park is a high‑performing, well‑established tourist park with 30 cabins and 50 sites, delivering strong commercial results and a consistently positive guest experience.

This park is known as a stable, reliable operation, making it an ideal opportunity for an experienced leader who enjoys hands‑on park management. You will lead a small, close‑knit team, oversee day‑to‑day operations, and take pride in maintaining high standards across guest service, presentation and safety in a rewarding regional environment.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Overseeing daily park operations and ensuring smooth, efficient running
  • Delivering a welcoming, consistent guest experience
  • Leading, supporting and rostering a small team across reception, housekeeping and grounds
  • Managing recruitment and attendance in a regional environment
  • Maintaining high standards of park presentation, safety and compliance
  • Managing budgets, reporting and overall park performance
  • Building positive relationships with guests and the local community


What You Will Need

  • Previous Park Manager experience (essential)
  • Strong understanding of regional and small‑community workforce challenges
  • A hands‑on leadership style and strong people management skills
  • Ability to manage absenteeism and performance confidently and fairly
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills
  • Financial and commercial management experience
  • Willingness to live onsite as part of the role
  • A valid driver’s licence

Before receiving a job offer, candidates must consent to a Federal Police Clearance for criminal records. Additionally, a valid Working with Children's Check specific to the state is required.

This role may require heavy lifting (up to 20kg), kneeling, squatting, and working with chemicals and machinery.
