The Role

Our software engineering teams have built some of Australia’s most popular websites and apps, with millions of unique visitors each year to our digital platforms. The G'day Group is undergoing a significant period of growth and is investing in technology and business processes to ensure we can provide market leading digital experiences for our customers.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and passionate developer to join a team of software engineers, delivering premier customer experiences on mobile and web platforms.

As a Front-End Developer, you will be responsible for translating design concepts and user interface requirements into code to create visually appealing and interactive web applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers and back-end developers, to deliver high-quality, user-centric web experiences. Your expertise in front-end development and knowledge of web technologies will play a vital role in building scalable and responsive applications.

Responsibilities will include:

·      Develop and implement user-facing features for web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

·      Collaborate with product owners, designers, and business analysts to transform wireframes and design mock-ups into functional and visually appealing web pages

·      Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability

·      Implement responsive designs that work seamlessly across various devices and screen sizes

·      Write clean, modular, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards

·      Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve front-end issues and ensure high-quality deliverables

·      Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate front-end components with server-side logic

·      Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in front-end development technologies and techniques

·      Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and team efficiency

·      Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, estimation, and daily stand-up meetings

Your Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant field. Extensive experience as a Front-End Developer with a strong portfolio of web development projects. You will have proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with a strong understanding of modern front-end frameworks.

You will have experience with responsive design and mobile-first development principles. You will have a strong foundation knowledge of cross-browser capability issues and solutions. You will have worked extensively with product management tools and software such as Jira, Confluence and Miro.

You will have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. You will possess a high level of energy, self-motivation, autonomy, initiative, and attention to detail to be successful in meeting the business demands at G’day Group. Your naturally upbeat and open style will fit our cultural values. You will have a highly organised mindset with the ability to assess the urgency of work allocated to you by various stakeholders.
