The Role
Based at Discovery Parks – Boulder, you’ll take the lead in our full commercial kitchen and dining establishment, delivering delicious meals and a welcoming dining experience that keeps guests coming back for more.
You’ll oversee and take a managerial (leadership) role at our dining establishment at Boulder, including planning menus, monitoring the quality of dishes, preparing and cooking food, overseeing cooking procedures, purchasing and monitoring stock levels, including dealing with dietary requirements. This includes managing buffet-style breakfasts, à la carte lunch and dinners, group functions and set menus — ensuring everything runs smoothly from prep to plate. You’ll also play a key role in training and mentoring your team, maintaining food safety standards, and driving consistency in quality and service.
About You
You’re an experienced Head Chef who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. You love what you do and take pride in bringing great food and great energy to your kitchen.
You’ll bring:
- Previous Head Chef experience in a similar environment (resort, hotel, or bistro)
- Trade qualifications in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience) – AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma OR at least 3 years of relevant experience may substitute the formal qualification.
- Strong cost control and menu planning skills
- Experience with electronic purchase ordering systems
- A collaborative leadership style and ability to work autonomously
- Commitment to HACCP and high food hygiene standards
- Current driver’s licence (First Aid Certificate desirable)
